What the deadlines look like

23 of 42 open contracts close within 14 days — the practical reason "check the portal when I remember" fails as a strategy: by the time most firms see a notice, the realistic preparation window has gone. 35 of the 42 publish an estimated value.

Method (reproducible)

Source: Contracts Finder open-notice data (OGL v3.0), fetched 13 July 2026, filtered to BidCrier's three trade boards (title-matched), open tenders only (deadline in the future), deduplicated by OCID, award notices excluded. "Suitable for smaller firms" uses BidCrier's published value/scope heuristic. No extrapolation beyond the dataset; counts change daily as notices open and close. Reuse permitted with attribution to BidCrier and Contracts Finder.
